About This TV Series : Parks and Recreation 



This TV series has been a political inspiration that has highlighted different political aspects / involvements for developing a park for recreation purpose of the residents. It is also a comedy show revolves around the Parks and Recreation Department staff that is situated in an imaginary town “Pawnee” of Indiana, United States. This TV series improved and encouraged the morale of characters as it was not upto standards in the beginning of the test premier. It was also forecasted that this show would never touch success but improvement in casting and story, the first episode attracted nearly 6.77 million viewers. However, this ratio declined to 4.25 million who watched the final episode naming “Rock Show”. It is also highlighted that the last episode was able to grab best reviews from the users as compared to the previous episodes.

History Of this Drama Series

This show was created by the writers when National Broadcasting Company approached him (Schur) to give another huge comedy show like “The Office”. However, the writer was of the view that it should not be a total spin-off but another unique one that would surprise the viewers like “The Office”. The show was not only modified but also re-filmed as well keeping in view the screening & reviews of the critics. Many scenes were given to the actors to improvising. The whole series was filmed by the handy camera and scenes were also shortened so that they could be filmed perfectly without harming the hands of the cameraman. The original cut-off of the pilot was about 48 minutes that was reduced to 22 minutes and it was possible due to improved style and the rest was discarded. It was repeated for the rest of the seasons as well.




Total Cast and Characters

Different characters have casted tis series including the important role of “Amy Poehler” who worked under name “Leslie Knope” and political mind-set personality. Knope has an idea for converting a huge pit into a recreational park when a nurse of a local hospital informs him about danger of that pit. Other main characters are “Rashida Jones” “Paul Schneider”, “Aziz Ansari”, “Nick Offerman”, “Aubrey Plaza” and many other repetitive characters like Chris Pratt, Retta, etc. Many stars have given their guest appearances in several episodes including Alison Becker.

Total 125 episodes have been aired for this series since year 2009 to 2015 for seven seasons. All episodes were about 22 minutes long which is a time period without commercial break time during the show. However, it also aired double episodes as well at many occasions.

About Production 
The Parks and Recreation show was aired by production of National Broadcasting Company under production of “Deedle-Dee Productions” & “Universal Media Studios”. The producers are Greg Daniels and Michael Schur who are well known TV show writers and producers and also known for their production of famous TV show like The Simpson Show, The Saturday Night Show, King of the Hill, etc.

First Episode Release Date
The first episode was released on April 09th, 2009 that is a pilot episode. This episode introduces different characters like the “Leslie Knope” who is basically a bureaucrat serving in the Parks and Recreational Department of self-imaginary town “Pawnee” of Indiana. The department is busy in achieving milestone of converting a pit into a recreational park for the locals.
